Chris Bassitt is in his third season (and last one on his contract) with the Blue Jays. His first one was very good, last year was less good.
This year:
Age | WAR | W | L | ERA | G | GS | GF | CG | IP | H | R | ER | HR | BB | IBB | SO | HBP | BK | WP | ERA+ | FIP |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
36 | 0.6 | 7 | 4 | 4.29 | 17 | 17 | 0 | 0 | 94.1 | 103 | 47 | 45 | 11 | 25 | 0 | 93 | 7 | 1 | 2 | 98 | 3.65 |
Baseball Reference has him at a 0.6 WAR. FanGraphs 1.7. FanGraphs uses FIP, so the two metrics can differ for pitchers.
Bassitt has a 3.65 FIP, much better than his 4.29 ERA, which suggests he’s had some bad luck.
Baseball Savant ranks him in the 89th percentile for average exit velocity and is very good at limiting walks, placing him in the 80th percentile. However, he has a low whiff rate, ranking in the 35th percentile.
I love watching him pitch.
