Jays, if you could maybe win one for me today, I would appreciate it.
There were some bits of good news yesterday:
- The Jays are saying George Springer has a sprained ankle and will be day-to-day. There are levels of ankle sprains. Hopefully, his won’t turn out to be too bad. I remember having a sprained ankle, and my leg was black and blue up to the knee. I limped for a month.
- Nate Pearson pitched a good inning for the Bisons yesterday. From what I saw, they said he hit 98 mph, and everything was in or near the strike zone. Thomas Hatch threw 6 good innings too. We should have a poll on how many rehab appearances Nate will have before they call him up.
- Anthony Castro and Carl Edwards Jr. both threw an inning in the Bisons’ game, Castro’s was clean, Edwards allowed a two-run homer.
- Cavan Biggio went 0 for 4 in his first rehab game.
Today’s lineup:
We are glad you are here and hope you feel welcome. As a reminder, we have rules. Mostly it’s “don’t be terrible,” but these days, it’s also, “please debate about baseball and not the coronavirus or vaccines.” If a moderator asks you to stop doing something, please stop. If you want to discuss the rules, don’t do it in the thread. Email Tom instead. We also have a BBB Glossary full of GameThread lingo you can find here. You can Adopt-a-Jay here, and here’s a helpful tutorial on how to post images in the comments.
