This game was over before the first out. Bowden Francis walked the first batter, then gave up back-to-back home runs. 3-0 before Bowen got Kyle Schwarber to strike out. Then single, hit batter, RBI single, another single to load the bases. After another strikeout, there was a two-run single, 6-0.
Another run in the second, and Bowden was out of the game. In all, Francis went 1.2 with 7 hits, 7 runs, 6 earned. The unearned run was because an Addison Barger throw from right field hit the runner or Clement at third and bounced away. Good throw, but unlucky.
Eric Lauer threw 4 innings, allowing just a walk with 2 strikeouts.
Paxton Schultz went 1.1, with a walk and 3 strikeouts.
Eric Swanson pitched the 8th. He gave up a home run to Trea Turner.
Braydon Fisher pitched the ninth. He hit 97 with his fastball.
On offense, we scored a run on a Davis Schneider home run. And then, in the eighth, Addison Barger hit a two-run home run. We had five hits, Schneider and Barger had two each. Vlad took a walk to extend his on-base streak.
