Blue Jays 1 Rays 3
All I really want to talk about is Bo Bichette’s play in the eighth inning. Vandy Diaz bounced one between short and third, Bo went back on the ball, turned and threw to first, and Vlad did the splits and made a great grab on the ball. As good a play at short as you’ll ever see.

The rest of the game? The usual. They hit into double plays whenever they could get back into the game.
Their one run was a Vladimir Guerrero laser in the sixth inning, 112.7 mph, 423 feet. He broke his bat over his knee earlier in the game.
Other than that, we managed five singles and hit into two double plays.
The Rays got their three runs in the first. Josh Lowe walked, Brandon Lowe hit a ground-rule double, and Junior Caninero homered.
Jose Berrios was great, other than that. He went six innings, allowed three hits, three earned, one walk and three strikeouts.
Mason Fluharty and Paxton Schultz each pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
The Jay of the Day: Anthony Santander (.122, for a two-hit, two-walk game).
Other Award: Berrios (-.144), Barger (-.163), Lukes (-.142) and Bichette (-.122, though that defensive play should buy back some of that).
Tomorrow we have a day game, 1:30 Eastern. Chris Bassitt (4-2, 2.83) vs. Ryan Pepiot (2-5, 3.99).
