The Jays made the roster move we expected:
- Ryan Burr was put on the 60-Day IL with a rotator cuff strain.
- Tommy Nance has been called up.
Nance is a 34-year-old RHP. He pitched in 20 games for us last year with a 4.09 ERA, 9 walks, 19 strikeouts in 22 innings.
This year, he has a 4.60 ERA in Buffalo. In 31.1 innings, he’s allowed 31 hits, 7 walks with 42 strikeouts.
Last year he threw a curve 38% of the time, sinker (94.5 mph 36% of the time), and slider (26%).
He last pitched on Wednesday. He has gone two innings in a couple of his outings.
Why not Lazaro Estrada? He hasn’t pitched since July 5th with the Jays. Paxton Schultz is on the IL.
Daulton Varsho might be back right after the All-Star break:
Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Monday with the Blue Jays FCL team
Club will take it day-to-day during his rehab assignment but it’s possible Varsho could rejoin Blue Jays out of the all-star break

Alec Manoah is making a rehab appearance Monday in the FCL. He will have five or six outings before the team makes any decision on bringing him up.
