Even in the middle (he hopes) of a long winning streak, there are roster moves:
- Andrés Giménez goes on the IL again with a sprained ankle. I hope it isn’t a long stint away from the team.
- Lazaro Estrada, who was terrific yesterday, was sent to Buffalo today. I’m sure we’ll see him again. It was nice to see a long reliever used as a long reliever.
- Will Robertson (Danger, Danger) was DFAed. I’m sad about that one too. Hopefully, he stays in the organization and we see him again.
- Ryan Burr was activated from the IL. Burr hasn’t played this season. Last year, he had a 4.13 ERA in 32.2 innings. He’s pitched 7.2 rehab innings with a 3.65 ERA, mostly with Buffalo this year.
- Joey Loperfido was called up. Another lefty hitting outfielder, but I hope he gets some playing time. He was hitting .278/.354/.422 with 6 home runs and 10 steals in Buffalo. He can play all three outfield spots.
Today’s lineup. Loperfido is in the lineup against the lefty. Bo hits cleanup again. I like Clement hitting leadoff against the lefty
