The Jays made some roster moves:
- Outfielder Jonatan Clase was called up.
- RHP Braydon Fisher was called up.
- Alan Roden was sent to Buffalo.
- Dillon Tate was sent to Buffalo.
Clase was up for a double-header (as the 27th man). He’s hitting .315/.419/.371, with 5 doubles, 14 walks, 25 strikeouts, 15 steals and 2 caught stealing.
Braydon Fisher (24) was a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft. He came to us in trade for Cavan Biggio last season. This year, he’s made nine relief appearances for the Bisons with a 2.38 ERA, with 4 walks and 14 strikeouts.
In the past, he’s thrown five pitches: a curve, which he threw almost 50% of the time, a four-seamer averaging 93 mph, a cutter, a slider and a sinker. I’m guessing the Jays have pared down that list.
Alan Roden wasn’t having a great time in his first time in the MLB, hitting just .178/.262/.260 with 1 home run, 5 walks and 18 strikeouts. I’m sure we’ll see him again. 84 PA doesn’t change his prospect status.
Dillon Tate got into 5 games with the Jays with 3 earned runs, 7 hits, 6 walks and 7 strikeouts in 5.1 innings. He pitched to one batter, a strikeout, in last night’s disaster.
Also outfielder Steward Berroa was DFAed. He played 28 games for the Jays last year, but has been passed on the prospect list by several outfielders in the last year. This year, in Buffalo, he played 24 games with a .195/.267/.234 line.
