The Jays picked outfielder Jake Cook with their second pick #81 overall.
Cook is fast. He was a pitcher until this year, but Southern Miss moved him to the outfield. He’s a project pick, hasn’t played much outfield, needs work with the bat, but with his speed, he could be a very good defensive center fielder.
Keith Law calls him a ‘unique’ prospect. He turned 22 today.
He hit .350 for Southern Miss with 3 home runs in 237 at-bats.
