There are bits of injury news.
The big news is that Max Scherzer will be making a rehab start with the Bisons Friday (provided nothing comes up between now and then). They are saying he’d need, at least, one more rehab start beyond that.
Beyond that:
- Spencer Turnbull will ‘factor into’ Wednesday’s pitching plans. John Schneider says that they ‘expect length’ from him. I don’t know what they have seen in him that would lead them to expect that.
- Daulton Varsho is doing ‘normal hitting’. They won’t have him do a rehab assignment, wanting him back as soon as possible.
- Trey Yesavage has been promoted to Double-A New Hampshire. He’s made 11 starts with a 2.13 ERA between Vancouver and Dunedin. In 50.2 innings, he’s allowed 24 hits, 19 walks, with 88 strikeouts.
- Bowdon Francis, “as of now”, will make his next start.
Tonight’s lineup. No Roden. And Andres Gimenez hits sixth? Davis Schneider plays against the right-hander. Bo DHes.
