We are just back from a Mother’s Day weekend in Edmonton, where we visited our son and his girlfriend (they also have a cat who thinks people should be up at 5ish, so I’m posting this quickly and going for a nap). We also went to the Jason Isbell concert because it is a rule that if you run a baseball blog or write about baseball, you must be a Jason Isbell fan. It was a great evening, well worth the 10% hearing loss. Rock and Roll might be a corporate racket, but this was a great evening of music.
There is a little bit of Jays news:
- OF Steward Berroa was traded to the Dodgers for cash considerations.
- Dillon Tate cleared waivers and accepted an assignment to Buffalo.
MLB Pipeline has updated its top 100 prospect list, and there are two Blue Jays on the list:
- Arjun Nimmala at #59 moving up 19 spots.
- Trey Yesavage at #71.
Forty games into the season, the Jays are 20-20, which, considering how they played a week ago, seems like a bit of a miracle. Guys are hitting the ball lately. And we’ve made it through four straight games without a bullpen blowup.
Let’s ask a question:
Bet Missouri has odds on the next manager to be fired, and John Schneider is well down the list this time. Four games make a big difference.
