Lots of stuff going on this morning, so let’s make this the GameThread as well.
It is Cricket Day at the Park. It feels too easy to say that if they don’t start winning regularly, it will be crickets day at the park every day.
The Jays made a roster move. José Ureña was DFAed, Easton Lucas is back with the team.
Ureña pitched in six games with the Jays, two starts, with a 3.65 ERA. Batters were hitting .245/.288/.449 against him. Not all that bad.
Lucas had a 7.41 ERA in four starts with the Jays. Batters hit .258/.347/.530. And he wasn’t doing much better in Buffalo: a 5.88 ERA in 6 starts.
And he is coming off a stretch of three poor starts: 11.2 innings, 14 earned runs.0
We file it under ‘moves for the sake of doing moves’. But it sounds like Eric Swanson will be activated tomorrow. Maybe Lucas will be sent back down.
The Jays’ hitting was decent in May (I’ll note that runs scored aren’t on this chart). Actually, just checked, they are seventh in the MLB in runs scored this month, with 128
Sorta quietly, the Blue Jays have the third-best wRC+ in baseball this month. Vlad Jr., Bichette, Clement, Kirk, Lukes leading the way. pic.twitter.com/KnXstpWjTB

Things that drive Tom crazy: calling up a player who was hitting great in Buffalo and leaving him on the bench.
On that note, here is today’s lineup. I think Braydon Fisher will be the opener today.
