Grichuk/Pillar
Blue Jays outfielder Randal Grichuk has hit in 12 of his past 14 games, hitting .316 over that stretch. He leads the Jays with seven homers, including two this past weekend against the White Sox. Former Jays centre-fielder Kevin Pillar has taken kindly to his new home: his six home runs and 21 RBIs lead the team, in spite of a .213 average.

Catcher Buster Posey was placed on the seven-day concussion list Saturday, the same day left-handed starter Drew Pomeranz was placed on the injured list with a left lat strain … Tyler Beede was the player brought up in his absence, initially as a long reliever but later transferred to the rotation. He made one spot start for the Giants this season, giving up eight runs seven earned, in 2 1/3 innings … Former Blue Jays infielder Yangervis Solarte was designated for assignment by the Giants last week and has since opted for free agency … The Jays will become Jackson’s 14th club when he debuts Wednesday, a major-league record …The Giants claimed a fourth outfielder, Aaron Altherr, off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.
