Every now and then, the Jays surprise me.
Max Scherzer has been officially activated from the IL. That’s not the surprise.
To make room, Spencer Turnbull was DFAed.
I thought the Jays wouldn’t drop Turnbull because they need someone to mop up innings. Someone who could give them since length.
But, I guess they decided, line the rest of us, that Spencer wasn’t going to be able to pitch well enough to make keeping him worthwhile.
Course if Scherzer gets hurt again, there will be some scurrying around to find the someone to fill out the rotation.
