On Wednesday evening, the Toronto Blue Jays added Braydon Fisher to the 40-man and 26-man rosters.
There’s no better prospect to look at in this week’s edition of Under the Radar Blue Jays prospect than the newest Blue Jays reliever, so let’s take a look at his career up to this point.

Fisher was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 draft out of Clear Falls High School in Texas by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He made his debut in 2018, posting a 2.05 ERA and a 5.02 FIP in 22 innings pitched. He missed all of 2019 due to Tommy John surgery, and the 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. However, he ranked as the Dodgers’ 23rd-best prospect in 2019, noting a strong fastball and slider.
The righty returned in 2021, pitching 70 innings with the Dodgers’ Single-A team, where he had a 6.56 ERA and a 4.63 FIP. In 2022, he split his time as a reliever between Single-A and High-A, posting a 4.61 ERA and a 3.95 FIP in 52.2 innings pitched.
Fisher’s 2023 season saw him mainly pitch in Double-A, where he had a 2.95 ERA and a 4.84 FIP in 61 innings pitched, with a 31.3 K% and a 14.1 BB%. In 2024, Fisher pitched 16.1 innings with the Dodgers’ Double-A team, where he had a 3.68 ERA and a 1.64 FIP in 7.1 innings pitched. With their Triple-A team, Fisher posted a 6.94 ERA and a 3.66 FIP in 11.2 innings pitched.
In June of last season, the Blue Jays designated long-time fan favourite Cavan Biggio for assignment. They found a trade for him later that week, moving Biggio to the Dodgers in exchange for Fisher.

With the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Fisher had a 2.76 ERA and a 2.83 FIP in 16.1 innings pitched with a 36.6 K% and a 9.9 BB%. He couldn’t find the same success with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, posting a 6.38 ERA and a 4.99 FIP in 18.1 innings pitched. Collectively, Fisher finished the season with a 5.03 ERA and a 3.58 FIP in 53.2 innings pitched between four different teams in minor league ball.
Fisher has had a good start to his 2025 season with the Bisons. In 11.1 innings pitched this season, the 24-year-old has a 2.38 ERA and a 2.09 FIP, along with a 29.8 K% and an 8.5 BB%. He’s been used as a high-leverage reliever with the Bisons, picking up two saves and a hold in his nine games he’s pitched in.
In Fisher’s most recent appearance on May 4, he averaged 95.5 mph with his fastball, touching as high as 97 mph. He also features a mid-80s curveball and a hard slider. Time will tell if the success he’s had this season can translate to the big leagues.
