The Toronto Maple Leafs‘ regular season schedule for the 2025-26 season was released on Wednesday, and with it grew the anticipation of the forthcoming campaign.
Beyond knowing the start date of October 8, Leafs fans now know when Mitch Marner makes his return to Toronto, how many back-to-backs there will be, as well as which month will be the busiest for the team. It gives those who can afford it a chance to start preparing to buy tickets, while others map out their schedule to determine which day to set aside and watch the game from home.
With that in mind, we asked you on social media which of games of the upcoming regular season they were most looking forward to and here are the highlights:

The regular season opener is always an exciting affair as it’s the start of the grind and the beginning of hope for a better ending. It’s a time-honoured tradition that the Leafs begin their season against the Montreal Canadiens and that alone will make for a great game, especially now that both are competitive.

The most popular answer was the date of Marner’s anticipated return to the city he called home for the better part of a decade. People are already wondering what the atmosphere will be like that night and how things will go, given how his time with the Leafs unfolded. Even if it’s going to fall on a Friday, there won’t be many Leafs fans skipping out on this one.
The 2nd game of those FIFTEEN back to backs. 15!!!

The second of 15 back-to-backs sees the Leafs play the Buffalo Sabres on the road and at home on Friday and Saturday, respectively. While I have my gripes with the scheduling formatting of back-to-backs, this is one where both teams are on equal footing, so neither has a real advantage over the other. Besides, Leafs-Sabres games are always memorable and getting it relatively early on should make for some fun times.

This is the day when Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers make their lone visit to Toronto for the season, which just so happens to fall on Hockey Night in Canada. A big matchup with McDavid and Auston Matthews squaring off is always exciting.
When they visit Calgary on Feb 2nd…gonna try to get to that one.

It has been known for decades that Leafs fans travel well and will show up no matter where the team is. That is especially the case in Western Canada where there are a large number of Leafs fans living out there having their fandom passed down through generations. There will therefore be a good percentage of Blue and White in the Calgary Flames’ own barn on February 2nd.
On one hand, Leafs fans will always be excited to be watching their beloved team play so every game will be highly anticipated.
On the other hand, some don’t care for the regular season and are more interested in how things unfold in the playoffs, assuming of course that the Leafs clinch a spot for a 10th straight year.
We want to hear from you: which Leafs game in the 2025-26 regular season are you looking forward to the most?
