Michael Carcone scored 1:13 into overtime to lift the Marlies to a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Monsters on Friday, giving Toronto a 2-0 lead in its second-round American Hockey League playoff series.
The Marlies won the opener of the best-of-seven series 5-2 on Wednesday night.
Toronto came out firing Friday, with Chris Mueller and Joseph Duszak giving the hosts a 2-0 lead by the 10-minute mark of the first period. Egor Korshkov also scored for Toronto in the second.
Sonny Milano, Dan DeSalvo and Ryan Collins, with the tying goal 40 second into the third, scored for Cleveland. Milano and DeSalvo added a pair of assists.
Marlies goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo made 35 saves. Brad Thiessen stopped 22 shots for the Monsters.
Cleveland hosts Game 3 on Sunday and Game 4 on Tuesday.
