Egor Korshkov makes his AHL debut tonight.
Cleveland Monsters @ Toronto Marlies
Game 2: 7:00pm
Watch: TSN2, AHL.TV
Opponent: Jackets Cannon
Two nights ago, the Toronto Marlies beat the Cleveland Monsters by a score of 5-2 to put them ahead 1-0 in their second-round series. The Marlies didn’t play all that well at even-strength in the game, which was a talking point during practice on Thursday, but they rallied behind four power play goals on seven opportunities gifted to them by the Monsters and walked away with a convincing win.
In the game, Calle Rosen and Andreas Borgman both suffered upper-body injuries and have been listed as day-to-day as a result. The update on Rosen’s x-rays came back negative, which is a good sign. Borgman, on the other hand, has had a long history of concussions and his health situation has not been updated as of yet, which is frankly worrying. Doyle Somerby, who laid the high hit on Borgman in the second period, was given a one (1) game suspension by the AHL, which he will serve tonight.
Cleveland Monsters defenseman Doyle Somerby has been suspended for one (1) game for his hit to the head of Andreas Borgman in the second period of Game 1. He will sit Game 2, which is tonight at 7pm. #Marlies https://t.co/If2gYYFixt

Borgman skated in practice this morning and told the media present during availability that he’s feeling “okay” so he might not have to miss any time following that hit. Rosen, on the other hand, doesn’t appear to be in.
According to Paul Hendrick, we will have more changes to the lineup — beyond the likely replacements for Rosen and Borgman — as Egor Korshkov has been slated to come in and play his first career game on North American ice in the AHL. We should be able to begin answering all of the questions regarding who this player is and how far along he is in his development after this game.
Leafs’ 2nd round pick in 2016 Yegor Korshkov will make his North American pro debut with the Marlies tonight in game 2 vs Cleveland on LNN and TSN 2. #Marlies

Lineups have not yet been announced, but follow myself (@HardevLad) and the site (@PPPLeafs) on Twitter for updates as soon as they come. And if you’re too lazy to do all that (which we understand, it’s very muggy outside) we’ll have a recap of the game on the site for tomorrow morning. For now, here is my guess for what the lines will be:
Nicolas Baptiste – Colin Greening – Josh Jooris
Andreas Borgman – Vincent LoVerde
