Wednesday’s FTB: Another sweep for the Toronto Marlies

May 8, 2019 by Pension Plan Puppets Leave a Comment

LoVerde’s face is hilarious here.

The Marlies and the Blues both made it trough to the conference final last night.

The Marlies completed the sweep of the Cleveland Monsters last night, putting them in position to move on to the Eastern Conference Final in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Their next opponent will be either the Charlotte Checkers or the Hershey Bears. The Checkers are leading that series 3-0.

Here’s Trevor Moore with the goal that put the Marlies in the lead.

We’ll have a full recap of the game up later this morning.

In the meantime, enjoy Egor Korshkov giving a facewash to Al MacInnis’ son.

Ontario’s hockey-star MP: How Red Kelly represented the Leafs and the Liberals – TVO
“The National Hockey League played games mainly on Wednesday night, Saturdays and Sundays. The House of Commons did not sit Wednesday or Friday evenings or on the week-ends but the sessions extended well into the summer. I missed few sessions and no games but was frequently unable to practice with the Maple Leafs and took my skates to Ottawa where I would rent some ice at 5 a.m.”

Despite objectively bad results year after year, this assistant keeps on coming back and we have no idea why.
