Danny Green retires from basketball

October 10, 2024 by Hoops Hype

Shams Charania: After 15 NBA seasons, Danny Green says he is retiring. Green, who’s announcing the retirement on his podcast Thursday, is one of four players in NBA history to win championships with three different teams (2014 with Spurs, 2019 with Raptors, 2020 with Lakers).

More on this storyline

Kyle Kuzma: “I think what propelled us during that championship run in 2020 was just our friendship. Everybody got along, one through seventeen. That’s what really matters—the teams that get along the best are usually the best teams in the NBA. We all trusted each other, and we had a lot of smart, high-IQ vets, whether it was Danny Green, KCP, Dwight, or JaVale. We also had hungry guys like me and Caruso, who were young and ready to prove something. We had a squad that was built on trust and hunger.” -via YouTube / September 11, 2024
As for Danny Green’s NBA future, he has not ruled out a comeback. He said, “I would love to come back if I had the opportunity. I have not officially retired. There’s free agency going on right now, and my phone lines are open.” -via ValleyCentral.com / July 14, 2024
Long-time NBA veteran Danny Green brought the energy to the ‘Ballin’ in the RGV’ basketball camp. Campers of all ages brought their basketballs and shoes to the DHR Health & Wellness Center, ready to learn from the three-time NBA champion. -via ValleyCentral.com / July 14, 2024
