The 2021 NBA Draft lottery results have been revealed. The Detroit Pistons will pick first when the draft commences later this summer.

This year’s NBA Draft class is as strong as ever. Cade Cunningham is projected to be the first overall pick, but teams holding the No. 2, 3 and 4 picks won’t be disappointed with the players still available. USC’s Evan Mobley, the G League’s Jalen Green and Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs are each worthy of a top-five selection.

Houston, Detroit and Orlando entered the night tied for the best odds (14 percent) to obtain the No. 1 pick. Oklahoma City and Cleveland trailed just behind tied at 11.5 percent.

Detroit was the big winner of the night, obtaining the No. 1 overall pick. The Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers were also big winners, joining Detroit in the top four.

Here’s a look at how the order will play out at the 2021 NBA Draft.

  1. Detroit Pistons
  2. Houston Rockets
  3. Cleveland Cavaliers
  4. Toronto Raptors
  5. Orlando Magic
  6. Oklahoma City Thunder
  7. Golden State Warriors
  8. Orlando Magic
  9. Sacramento Kings
  10. New Orleans Pelicans
  11. Charlotte Hornets
  12. San Antonio Spurs
  13. Indiana Pacers
  14. Golden State Warriors

It looks like Cade Cunningham may be on his way to the Pistons later this summer. Detroit could, of course, pass over Cunningham to select Evan Mobley or Jalen Suggs.

The Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors are all in good shape, as well. There’s four potential stars in this year’s class.

The 2021 NBA Draft commences Thursday, July 29. ESPN will provide coverage.
