Raptors, Hawks Most Interested In Anthony Davis Amid Limited Market

December 17, 2025 by Real GM

Anthony Davis has drawn the most trade interest from the Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks, but the Dallas Mavericks’ asking price has limited trade momentum, according to league sources.

Davis participated in the Mavericks’ shootaround Monday but did not play in the game at the Utah Jazz. His availability and contract situation have complicated potential trade discussions as the deadline approaches.

Atlanta cannot assemble a workable trade without including Trae Young or Kristaps Porzingis. The Hawks have no intention of making their 2026 first-round pick from New Orleans available.

Dallas is considered unlikely to be interested in Young as a target, particularly given their commitment to Kyrie Irving. Porzingis continues to battle illness, creating additional uncertainty around his availability. Porzingis previously played for the Mavericks until his 2022 trade to the Washington Wizards.

The Mavericks are not interested in simply shedding Davis’ contract, which carries similar terms to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s deal in Milwaukee. Dallas has maintained it would only trade Davis if the return provides real consequence to the franchise.

Davis was the centerpiece of Dallas’ controversial trade for Luka Doncic last February. The Mavericks remain committed to extracting significant value in any potential deal involving the forward.

Sources indicate limited optimism that Atlanta can construct an acceptable offer. Toronto’s level of interest and potential package remain unclear at this stage of the trade season.

The lack of a robust market reflects both Davis’ injury concerns and Dallas’ high asking price. The Mavericks appear willing to hold onto Davis rather than accept a return that does not meet their valuation threshold.
