The Toronto Raptors would be willing to trade away either RJ Barrett or Immanuel Quickley in a deal for a significant roster upgrade, sources tell Jake Fischer. The Raptors acquired both Barrett and Quickley as part of the OG Anunoby trade with the New York Knicks. Quickley and the Raptors agreed to a five-year, $175 million deal during the 2024 offseason. Barrett is signed until the 2027 offseason with his four-year, $107 million extension signed with the Knicks in 2023.
Toronto was able to keep both Barrett and Quickley out of their trade at the deadline for Brandon Ingram.
The Raptors have shown a willingness to trade away Jakob Poeltl in a package for Kevin Durant. The Phoenix Suns have interest in a starting caliber center.
Furthermore, the Raptors may be the team most likely to move out of the top-10 in the lottery as the own No. 9. Toronto would likely prefer to trade down rather than out of the first round entirely. The Suns own the No. 29 overall pick.
