TJ McConnell on Kawhi Leonard’s shot vs. Sixers: So, I’m on the sidelines and he shoots it and hits the front of the rim and a bunch of us are like, “All right, like overtime.” And it bounced off the rim again. And I heard someone in the back of the bench be like, “What the f*ck?” And then it bounced on the other side of the rim and then just drops in. And I’m like, “What in the f*ck just happened?”. Like the one of the craziest shots I’ve ever seen. I mean, the bounce was in incredible. I don’t know if it was the Air Canada Center at that time, but it was so loud and you’re kind of just like like honestly what the f*ck just happened and you walk back and you have time to process it and it was a really shitty feeling.

This probably means more for the Nuggets than the Clippers…

Sinners is the Kawhi Leonard of movies.
I don’t think it’s a perfect movie start to finish, but holy hell, it reaches peaks that very few movies ever do. There’s 20-30 minutes of literal edge of my seat greatness.
I’ll probably never fully rewatch it, but I’ll never forget it. – 6:54 PM

Asked Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac about Clippers preparation for Game 5
Kawhi went back to the starts not being good enough and needing heroic comebacks
Zu felt team was prepared, and that Nuggets just shot exceptionally well pic.x.com/2YKLJZucPq – 3:43 AM

Jamal Murray is shooting like Steph tonight on a night where Nikola Jokić has missed 8 of 11 shots
On the other side, Kawhi Leonard and James Harden have now missed 2 free throws each
Denver calls timeout after latest Kawhi miss at the stripe. It’s an 86-72 Denver lead, 5:31 3Q – 11:53 PM

MASSIVE start to the 3rd quarter.
Powell missed three
Murray stepback two vs Zubac in iso
Kawhi misses, great defense by Murray
MPJ wide open three (great running by CB to drag defense with him)
Quick Ty Lue timeout. He has 3 left. – 11:38 PM

More on this storyline
Justin Russo: Kawhi Leonard tonight on what he thinks is contributing to the team’s poor starts in this series: “Wish I knew. … But we’ve just got to stay there, know what they’re doing and contest, and make sure we’re there on every cut, closeout, rebound.” -via Bluesky / April 30, 2025
Perhaps sensing what was needed, Jokić led the Nuggets from a 2-point halftime lead to a 20-point lead entering the fourth quarter. “Him being an MVP player, getting to his spots, making shots,” Kawhi Leonard said of Jokić scoring 16 of his 36 points in the third quarter. “Gotta give him credit. On the defensive end, we had five baskets. It’s the playoffs; it’s how it goes sometimes.” I’ve seen many Clippers comebacks, including in the playoffs. A big key to comebacks is to watch the minutes of the leading team. The Nuggets couldn’t play a single reserve more than 13 minutes in Game 4. Peyton Watson was the only reserve who played in the fourth quarter, and he was on the floor for only the first 2:45 of the fourth quarter and on the last Clippers possession when Zubac put back Harden’s miss to tie the score at 99. -via New York Times / April 27, 2025
Jorge Sierra: Stephen Curry passed Tony Parker in playoff scoring and is now No. 10 in NBA history. He also moved ahead of Russell Westbrook for No. 20 in assists. Also: Kawhi Leonard passed Manu Ginobili is points for No. 26 all-time. -via Bluesky / April 27, 2025
TJ McConnell: Cam Johnson’s my guy. I love that dude. But to say I was the Michael Jordan of Pittsburgh it’s egregious. It’s probably the most egregious stand I’ve ever made in my life. It’s ridiculous. I had a really good high school career and I shot the ball a bunch. I had the ultimate green light. I had great teammates who just kept passing it to me and my dad was my coach who just pushed me to get where I’m at today. Going Division I at Duquesne and Arizona even I slowly started to transition to know that um I’m going to be a point guard. I was more of a shooting guard in high school and shot a ton of threes. -via YouTube / May 1, 2025
How am I supposed to convey in words that does any justice to the unfathomable way the Indiana Pacers just closed out the first round series against the Milwaukee Bucks with a Game 5 victory by a final score of 119-118 after trailing by seven points with 40 seconds left? “That’s the craziest game I’ve ever been a part of,” TJ McConnell said afterwards. “I’m still trying to process it,” Myles Turner added. “One of the craziest games that I’ve personally been a part of. We never stopped believing.” -via iPacers.com / April 30, 2025
Scott Agness: Haliburton’s four-point play gives the Pacers their first win over the Bucks this season, 115-114. They badly missed him the last three games. Bucks had used a 19-8 run late Siakam had 25-12-5, TJM with 12/7a. Pacers contained Giannis, kept him to 19-17-7. Next: Fri. at Philly -via x.com / March 11, 2025
